Summer Berry Pie – No Sweeteners, Just Flavor!

ImagePeople who have been eating paleo and/or cutting sugar (and other sweeteners) for a while generally come to the same observation – food starts to take on a new, heightened flavor.  REAL food takes on a personality of its own.  It’s an amazing transformation!   Continue reading

Carrot Cake Sandwich Cookies

Image

It’s the end of the semester and a beautiful time for… procrastination.  I spent Friday cleaning house, Saturday gardening, and Sunday afternoon whipping up these little guys.  It was a treat for the boys that I could feed to them without feeling guilty.  And they loved it!  (It was also a great excuse to continue putting off grading papers, projects, and tests… oops.  Eventually, it all got graded.)  My version is not dairy-free, but I think it could easily be adjusted to make it so… hmmm… and now I’m reading that last sentence in the voice of Patrick Stewart.

Coffee Mug Banana Raisin Blondie

If you’re like me, “special treat” preparation can often create horrible conflicts of temptation vs. willpower for days… gazing at the leftover delectable morsels every time you pass the kitchen… thinking, “How bad could it be if I had just ONE more….” Continue reading
